Daycare friends

Emmy and Bobby enjoy their friends at school.  When I picked Emmy up this week she ran over to me while holding Lakyn Johnson's hand and want excited to show me that they were twins!  They held hands for quite a while as I struggled to find free space on my camera phone to snap some pictures.  I asked Emmy last night who her best friend was at school and she without hesitation said, "you are mommy!"  I then told her that I wanted to know who the best friend at school was though and she smartly answered, "Mom, when you came to pick me up you were at school and so you are my best friend at school"

Bobby is always very enthusiastic and yells "mommy!" and runs as fast as his cute little chubby legs will take him when I come to his room to pick him up.  I always ask him how his day was and what he did that day.  His standard answer is always, "Good!" and "I played with my friends!"  My best part of the day is getting the kids from school and then later snuggling with them on the couch together before bed.  Bobby and I get some quality time singing and giving kisses as I rock him before he goes to sleep and Emmy and I sing songs and do prayers every night together.

The weather is getting warmer!

Finally the weather is getting warmer and the kids are getting some outdoor time.  Here is a picture and also a video (the video was taken by our babysitter).

Dance Class

Here are some pictures of Emmy in dance class recently.  She loves to dance and wear the butterfly wings (and watch herself in the mirror).  She will let me braid her hair when it is wet and when dry she loves the curls.  I have actually gotten quite good with french braids since I practice with Emmy's hair daily.  She is a happy, funny, smart and enthusiastic little girl.  She makes my heart so happy.

I won an award

 

I received the Advisor of the Year award this past week at the Leadership banquet.  One of the students of the undergraduate PT Club presented the award to me and said the nicest things about my work with the group.  It was an award I was honored to receive and it came at a time when work has been stressfull.  I am blessed!

Cuddle time!

Bobby and I have really bonded over the shared experience of "cuddle time."  Bobby knows that after dinner we play for a while and then we have bathtime (which he often requests without prompting).  Most nights lately he tells me to hurry up with his bath and wash him up fast so that we can have "cuddle time."  He will say to me, "Cuddle time mommy?"  and we grab his blanket, his milk and cuddle as we watch Mickey Mouse or Super Why on the couch together.  I get lots of Bobby love and he seems to enjoy it too.  Then at 7:30 we go downstairs and sing songs together and rock in the chair.  After a few songs he usually tells me that it is time for him to lay "on his bear pillow" in his bed where we make a deal (and shake hands on the deal that we make) to sing the itsy bitsy spider song two times before Bobby goes to sleep.  It is my favorite part of the entire day.  Emmy usually joins us on the couch for cuddle time and so I get my two favorite people cuddling next to me with one under each arm.  I am so blessed!
