Fort Lincoln and lunch with kids

We had such a great time at the Fort Lincoln Little Monsters hike.  It was about 2 miles and the path had scare monsters and ghosts, zombies walking around.  The kids didn't seem scared at all but I was a little nervous they might get nightmares from the scary people who were dressed as zombies.  We also walked through a haunted house and played carnival games.  We went with Sara Kotelnicki and her kids and the Lundeen family which made the fun even better. We followed it up with Orange Leaf frozen yogurt too so the entire day was fun.  I also helped out in church with the pre-K group which I love doing.  I got invited to some sleepovers from a few little ones and also got some make believe dinners made for me while there.  It was fun to see how Bobby and Emmy interact with others.  Bobby found one of the scavenger event items and while he stood up front showing it off his proud big sister was yelling out, "Great job Bobby, way to go!!"  She gave him some congratulation hugs as well.  Then our children's ministry leader, Tina, dropped her book and papers and Bobby rushed to help her pick it up.  I was proud of his chivalry!

Monday I surprised the kids at school for lunch.  I had made them (and me) cold lunches for school and then snuck in behind Bobby.  I tapped him on the shoulder and asked if I could sit by him at lunch.  He was so excited and I got lots of hugs, kisses and he kept his arm around me all through lunchtime.  I spent 15 minutes with him (that's all the time they get to eat) and then Emmy came in behind us and heard my voice, "Mommy?!?" she said.  She couldn't believe I was there and waved at me from her spot across the lunchroom while I said goodbye to Bobby. I could see her telling her friends that I was her mom.  We sat together and because Emmy is such a chatterbox she hardly ate any lunch before she and I had to go.  I helped her look for her missing mitten (it was in her pocket) and her missing hat (in her backpack) before I sent her off to the playground.  Emmy told me later at home it was the best lunch she'd ever had because I was there.  I loved every minute of it.

special breakfasts

Emmy got to go to Starbucks for breakfast with grandma and Bobby got donuts with dad.  I bought him this new dinosaur shirt he is very proud of.

Soccer ends

Soccer jamboree marked the end of the season.  The kids had games for almost 3 hours straight.  Robb was the best coach and even bought treats for all his kids.  He got a lot of appreciation from kids and parents.  Bobby got bullied in game one a bit with the kids shouting, "Bobby, Bobby, Bobby!" and Robb told me he cried a bit.  I was over at Emmy's game watching her play at the same time.  Then Bobby decided to get tough and told his dad, "That's it, you want me to bring it, I will bring it!"  Then he went back in the game and made a bunch more goals!

Another tooth for the tooth fair and the best part of soccer

We have enjoyed many sunny warm days for soccer but last weekend it was COLD!  We made sure to warm up inside with treats after the game.  Bobby chose a pumpkin scone and Emmy chose her standard frosted sugar cookie.

Emmy pulled out another tooth.  This one just to the side of her front tooth.  She wrote this note to the tooth fairy.  She got 4$ and a note the tooth fairy left for her in return.

We sure do have busy moments in our lives

Robb told me that while loading up the truck he told Bobby they were running out of room in the truck since there is soccer gear, hockey gear, etc taking up space.  Bobby looked at him and said, "Yeah, we sure do have busy moments in our lives."  Bobby is such a philosopher.  He showed us his September journal of drawings from school and no one in the family was more proud than his sister. "Wow, Bobby, that is great work, nice job!"  she said excitedly to him.  Later on I took another look and saw that she had drawn those same compliments on the cover for him.  This same morning she told Robb and I we could now start buying her pictures she had drawn and they were selling for one dollar.  Robb and I didn't jump to the idea of paying her for her pictures now versus collecting them for free but Bobby sure did.  He asked if I could help him empty out his piggy bank.  I don't know any other brother that would give his sister his money for pictures she had drawn.  He wanted to hang one up in his room.  I ended up giving him the money to pay for the picture because he just warms my heart up with how sweet and loving he is to her.  They are such great siblings!

Prince Ball date, Soccer, Pumpkin Patch

Emmy was invited to so many events this week.  She got invited to her friend's church party and got to dress up wacky and have a fun time.

Bobby was my date for the Prince Charming Ball.  He was a fantastic date and gentleman.  We went out to dinner with friends to Rockin 50s where he enjoyed some mini corn dogs and his fries as well as another boy's fries.  We took pictures, made a crown for him, ate snacks, drank Shirley Temples and then we DANCED.  You can't see Bobby's arms in the picture because his moves were at lightening speed and did not slow down.  That boy loves to dance.  He stopped only for refreshments and also to make me a light up necklace.  I got lots of love and I love yous throughout the evening and we really enjoyed our special time together.  That boy is sweet!  I am so lucky to have two princes in my life (I count his dad in that number too).

I got some action shots of our aggressive little Bobby playing soccer.  He had a double header this past weekend and scored a lot of goals.  Emmy had TWO birthday parties after her two soccer games so once the kids were finished with soccer she headed to her parties and Bobby and I went to the park and to Orange Leaf for a treat.

Pumpkin patch fun on Sunday.  The kids enjoyed the adventure of the zipline.  It made me a little nervous but they loved it.  The weather was perfect and we appreciated some great family time.
