Fall break, fun break!

Family pictures turned out well this year.  Bobby still is a challenge at times with his smile but Emmy is a natural model!

Emmy and Bobby had 80s day and parents breakfast.  We enjoyed visiting with them and their friends.  Emmy's outfit was a hit!

School pictures came back and once again it was proven that these kids are pretty darn cute!

Fall break fell on the same two days for the kids schedule and for my schedule.  This meant extra time together.  Robb gave us a ride to Starbucks.  We enjoyed a treat and then headed to the pet store.  Then we hiked two miles home and enjoyed some cooler fall weather and time together.  The kids are so much fun to be with and this was a fun time.

Bobby has been asking me for a date night to Shogun for a King Crab Crunch roll.  We finally got our night out.  He devoured the sushi roll.  There was a football game on in the background and I had to remind my date to focus on our conversation and not the game.  Eventually I got a good conversation out of him and I really enjoyed what I learned about my little boy who is growing up too fast.  He was a very sweet date in that he gave me lots of love, hugs and kisses.

The little monsters hike at Fort Lincoln was this past weekend.  What beautiful weather for an outdoor hike together.  We walked a couple miles, went through the haunted house and played the games.  The kids said many times that they weren't scared at all by the haunted house but I felt a little nervous about it.

Dancing queen at the princess ball

Basketball lessons from grandpa

Emmy has a lot of great male role models in her life!

Emmy and Robb went to the Princess ball last weekend.  She enjoyed dancing and going out to eat with her dad.  What a special memory for her.

Grandpa Kelly came out of retirement as a coach to teach his granddaughter some basketball moves.  He is such an awesome teacher and she soaked it up.  She was really interested and it brought back all those memories of the time he spent with me teaching me basketball moves in the driveway.  Hours and hours he spent helping teach me how to play well.  Emmy is blessed to get a turn now with a man who knows A LOT about the game and has the time and patience to teach.  My heart was so full getting to help out and watch the lessons.

Our weekends are busy!

It was grandparents day and our kids are so blessed to have two pairs of grandparents to show off.  Grandma and Grandpa Moldenhauer took them out for breakfast and then the Eckert grandparents came for lunch.  They also participated in some fun activities.  Emmy interviewed Grandma Candy and I giggled when she read to me that Grandma Candy's advice for Emmy was to "visit your grandparents often."

Our weekends are full of soccer games, basketball games, football games.  Emmy is actually one of the taller girls out there and she is great at defense.

The boys took KrisAnn and I out to Wild Wings for dinner and then to the Prince Ball.  The boys danced like crazy.  Bobby told me that he had "tasted my necklace" since it fell into his mouth while we were two stepping.  I asked him how it tasted and he said, "Not great!"  He makes me laugh.  Later on he said his favorite part was when I taught him to two step.  Robb let Bobby and I sleep in my bed and so Bobby and I fell asleep holding hands.  He was an excellent date and I love our time together.  Robb and Emmy got sushi take out and watched a movie.  They will be going to a Princess ball next weekend.

Emmy took her turn at Acolyte.  She and her friend were great and when they finished lighting the candles, Emmy turned to her friend and gave her a high five.  Pastor Jenny loved this (as did many in the congregation) and she used it in her children's sermon and adult sermon time to talk about how praise is better than criticism.  Emmy became quite famous and they even talked about the high five in the children's Sunday school time.  Emmy is a happy, encouraging person and so her high five didn't surprise us, but it was fun to see others get to share in her personality.  I was proud of her!
