Surviving the cold winter days and having fun doing it

Bobby and Keira exchanged special Valentines again this year.  The love affair is still on!  They are so sweet to each other with their personalized cards.

While Robb and Emmy kept busy with hockey practice, Bobby and I decided to get some activity time in at the Y.  We threw the football back and forth and played lots of basketball together too.   I have to say that Bobby has better throwing skills than I do with the football.  He even gave me some tips!  I did get beat a few times shooting with him but I think I'm still superior there with the basketball skills.

The kids were the youngest ones at the U Mary all day track camp.  Emmy was a bit scared at first but not Bobby!  Eventually they both were enjoying the event and trying new sports.  Bobby did some face plants into the long jump pit and came out with a mouth, nose full of sand.  The track coach told me he doesn't have to replace all the dirt he left with last Sunday.  He loved every bit of it too.  They both worked so hard that their muscles were sore the next day!!
We had Presidents day off from school and so we got to see our sweet baby Lexi!
The kids had stopped by my workplace on Friday and secretly wrote me some sweet notes I found when I got back to work this week.  They spent Tuesday (another day off for them) out at the ranch.  They visited the puppies, cows and hung out with their grandparents for the day since they were in town for a week.

Superbowl party

Robb and Bobby enjoyed some quality guy time for Superbowl.  I made them ribs and they hung out like two best buddies would on Superbowl.  Emmy and I stayed upstairs and watched the commercials and half time show mostly....like two female besties do.

A busy, COOOOOOLLLLLLDDDD February

Emmy has been busy enjoying her hockey season.  She was just in Minot for another tournament.  I took her out for breakfast before she left so I could get a little more time in with this busy lady.

While Emmy and Robb were in Minot for the tournament, Bobby and I had some great time together.  We went to the St. Mary's carnival.  We weren't very lucky with prizes or at the cake walk but Bobby loved the pitching game and was close to guessing his pitch speed.

One night last week we had back to back school programs.  Bobby and Emmy each had a line or two to say and Emmy played xylophone and drums.  They both made us proud up there!  Parent teacher conferences were also last week.  Emmy is still at the top of her class for math and reading.  She is doing well.  Her teacher would like her to be more clean, tidy, organized with her desk.....I would like that at home as well!  Bobby is in the 99th percentile for reading and 95th for math.  He doesn't like to not know anything, his teacher tells us.  He gets frustrated when the work doesn't come easy to him (which is most often).  He still is a busy-body who gets in trouble sometimes for his active body that doesn't want to sit still and listen.  Two smarties that are doing great in school!
Emmy scored a goal last weekend in the Bismarck tournament.  I bought her a special treat to celebrate her hard work!
Bobby and his girlfriend Keira are still going strong.  He got her a special Valentine and also got one in the mail from her.  It is sweet how thoughtful they are....and of course, how in love they are.
