Bobby and I went on a walk to Starbucks and enjoyed a treat at the end of the walk.  Robb and I went to Tim McGraw and met up with some friends at the fair.  It was a fun July.

State fair fun - after getting Emmy from camp we went straight to the Fair.  She told us all about camp along the way (She LOVED it).  At the fair, we all shot guns, saw the exhibits, petted bunnies, rode rides and ate some food.  We packed it all in and then Bobby and I separated from Emmy and Robb to get ready for our concert.  Emmy and Robb rode a few more rides and Bobby and I rocked out.

Emmy once again got chosen from the audience to help hold a jump rope for a jumping dog.  She did well and took a bow in front of the audience.  Her enthusiasm has meant that she often gets singled out in the crowd lately for a guest spot on stage.  She loved helping with the dog trick show.

A highlight of our State Fair fun this year was the Rascall Flatts concert.  I had the BEST looking and most fun date there.  Bobby and I danced, clapped, sang....and just enjoyed each other.  He was dressed to impress in cowboy attire and got a lot of attention from those sitting around us.
Kids' lemonade stand was a success!  They made some money, but I did remind them that I had purchased all the supplies.  Once they did the math the income was less but I put the supply fee back in the fund they use for the fun times they have with their nanny each week.  Grandma Launa was the big tipper and she gave 10$ for cookies.

Amusement park fun.  The kids enjoy the water balloons and come ready with swim attire since they know they will get wet.  This time around they hit the target many times so they both got really soaked.  We also did some other rides and the slide.

Our beloved Grandma Pearl passed away at the age of 99.  It was a hard good-bye but she was ready for Heaven and very worth of joining Jesus and God and our loved ones up there.  We all paid our respects and enjoyed looking back at the many amazing memories we have of our Grandma Pearl.

Grandpa Kelly stopped by for some extra hugs one early morning and to get some more of the cookies Grandma Launa had bought earlier that week at the kids' lemonade stand.  He bought the last 3 for 10$....the extra hugs were free!

Bobby and Emmy are lucky to have the BEST nanny - Quinn Wrigley.  She takes them to her house often for extra fun times. On this day it was jumping on the tramp with bubbles and water and then hot tub and smores.

More Fair fun - Emmy has been wanting to jump on this trampoline for a long time and she finally got her wish!  Bobby had a rough start and got suspended in the air with his legs dangling before the worker came over to bring him back down so he could try jumping again.  They enjoyed it!

Triangle YMCA Camp

We dropped Emmy off at the same camp I went to 30 years ago (and loved).  I think I may have stayed in that same cabin!  She is with her friend and was so excited to start her adventure.  It is going to be so hard on me to not get to hear about these memories until Friday.  I did buy her a journal and a waterproof camera so she can record the fun and share with me later.  Love this little big girl!

Happenings in July

Emmy has been crushing her BIO girl workouts.  She is strong and positive and I enjoy our workouts together!

4th of July was spent at the Lovdal's house.  The boys killed their wings...I've never seen humans eat like that.  Bobby's nose was running but that didn't stop him from eating A LOT of wings!

We went to a Larks game and had a great time!  We had really good tickets, free food and lots of family time.  The Larks won and got 8 runs in the 8th inning which meant free donuts for all (which we redeemed the next day).

Yes, you can write your dissertation ANYWHERE.  I compromised and jumped with the kids too.  A little 3 yr old boy came over while I was working and offered me free hugs and kisses!  I really didn't have a chance to say no...he insisted and planted a kiss right on my cheek.  His name was Bradley and it was clear Robb has some competition.  I'm 40 but still popular with the younger men I guess.
We took a trip to Medora and stopped by the Perception House.  Emmy knew many of the illusions and the kids were very interested.  The slanted house really made me feel ill, but they loved it!

A fantastic family dinner at The Roughrider Inn
 Medora Musical - beautiful night
Emmy was asked to come up on stage and be a part of the act.  She will NEVER forget her time on stage.  She was very entertaining and earned herself 3$ and many fans.  As we left that night, many kids came over to meet her and to talk to her.  It was such a great memory for us all!

These musical singers were from Bismarck!

Our afternoon hiking was so much fun.  We really enjoy our time together.....though we got a little TOO close to this rattlesnake.  That was a close one!
