Celebrating Bobby and Emmy has a successful end to her Hockey Seas

Bobby had four friends over to celebrate turning 11.  They were wild, crazy boys who spent the evening playing rough, being loud, and spilling soda all over the basement.  They had a great time together and were up early to get a breakfast of all of Bobby's favorites (2 kinds of bacon, sausage, eggs, scones) and I also made sure orange juice, fruit was part of the spread for kids who don't exist on meat alone like Bobby would like to.  Many parents commented that I was crazy to take on this sleepover without Robb around but we managed just fine.  I did hear one boy say, "Bobby, this party is much different with your mom supervising compared to your dad!"  I guess moms have more rules.

Emmy was on the post advertising the Lamoureux camps.  They chose her to represent out of hundreds of kids which was so much fun.  She had a great State Tourney!  She played hard and her team made it all the way to the semifinals and played for 3rd.  Emmy scored a beautiful break away goal unassisted with a minute left to play that tied up the game.  Unfortunately her team couldn't come away with the OT win.  She had an amazing tournament and ended her season well.

Representative Robb reporting for duty, Bobby is 11, and ski trip to Terry Peak and other happenings

Bobby had a great traveling basketball season this year. He is a tough defender and so quick.  He has great court sense and played point guard this season.  In his final tournament he made a 3 pointer that allowed his team to go ahead by 2 points with less than a minute in the game.  Unfortunately they lost in OT that game but Bobby sure knows how to mess with the other team when he gets an opportunity to press.  Very proud of his hustle and work ethic out there.
Representative Robb started a new job.  He was appointed to the remaining term of a Representative that passed away in our district.  He has been doing a great job and he has gotten tons of press and accolades for accepting the role.  We see big things in his future!  Even the mean girls at Emmy's school were impressed and she overhead them say that they shouldn't mess with her because her dad is a Representative.
Bobby's test grades once again are off the charts.  He is testing at the highest level in math, reading.  He has high expectations for himself (sometimes too high) but we are most proud of how his teachers say he is a good human. Helpful and kind to others always.  His teacher said that when they critique each other's work in class Bobby is the only student who can always find a positive thing to say about a classmate's work.
I've been enjoying Emmy's company so much lately.  She is so much fun to spend time with and recently we took a day to go shopping because she wanted to paint some jeans she felt she wouldn't wear otherwise.  We bought the dye and later I stopped into her room and noticed she had started work on MY favorite white jeans (that she thought were hers).  Needless to say, they are hers now since I don't want white jeans with a pink back pocket.  I was not very happy!!

Emmy made the State Honor Choir this year!! She loved being a part of this amazing choir (just like her mom was back in 7th grade).  She had a solo speaking part as well.  She is really shining this year with all of her talents.  She also participated in cheerleading and learned a lot of cheers and moves.  She was by far the best cheerleader as noted by some of her peers.  Robb and I went to a lot of basketball games to watch her cheer.  I don't love the "sport" of cheer, but I love Emmy and it made her so happy.

Bobby is 11!  On his birthday we were skiing at Terry Peak.  We found a great steakhouse and he had a birthday dinner of ribs and cheesecake.

We stayed right on the Mountain at Terry Peak Lodge (I know my family stayed there once when I was younger).  It was a very small cabin and tight quarters!  We enjoyed the close family time together......most of the time!  We played Telestrations and laughed SO hard together.  The kids are such good skiers and I have a hard time keeping up with them.  Robb's knee isn't great but he tried to hang in there as long as he could.  It was a fun family trip with lots of memories.

Bobby got some great birthday gifts.  We are planning to have a sleepover with his friends this weekend since we were skiing over his birthday.  Emmy got him a St. Mary's sweatshirt that he loved.  He can't wait to be a Saint!
