Polar plunge in Florida
Since Florida had record lows (lowest temps since the 90s) we had some days where we enjoyed mostly indoor activities. Bobby had some fun taking the "polar plunge" in grandma's pool. It was 45 degrees outside and the pool was not heated.....so it was pretty cold.
Record lows for Florida make for good days for outdoor runs
Emmy asked me to go for a run with her and I NEVER pass up a chance to run with my favorite girl. She doesn't usually run distance so I wasn't sure how far she'd want to go. Turns out...she pushed me to sprint in after running 3 solid miles. She is a great athlete with a positive attitude.
So glad we got that put on video!
We realized we weren't capturing enough of our Florida memories this trip so I asked Robb to take more pictures while we were mini golfing. So glad we got this put on video! That's Bobby uncontrollably laughing in the background.
wrapping up the trip with a puzzle
Bobby and Grandma started one last challenge....a puzzle. They did this last year as well and they get pretty into their challenge.
Christmas 2022
Prior to starting our Christmas break, the faculty enjoyed some fun at the Escape Room. We hold 2nd place overall for getting out in time without asking for any clues. We had a great time!
We made it to Florida! We clearly did not take as many pictures as we should have of our fun times. We did enjoy some mini golf (Bobby's choice) and lots of shopping (Emmy's choice). We had plenty of amazing food while there and went on numerous long walks to enjoy the warmer weather. Bismarck has record setting snow and cold temps this month so it was great to get away.
Bobby and I planned to have some one on one time together and on this night he set up a private fancy dinner (in the living room) for just the two of us. He is a sweet boy and I love our time together!
2nd annual Dave and Busters trip. We teamed up (Emmy and I and then Robb/Bobby) to play games. It was a fun filled hour or so, then we went to get some Boba tea for the kids at the only other place open that day (Christmas Eve).
One of our favorite things we did on this trip was a Candlelight Christmas Eve service. It was touching and special. The only person missing was Grandpa Kelly. He had to stay back in Bismarck to work and we missed him a lot on this trip but especially on Christmas Eve during church and dinner.
I should've taken pictures of the fancy dinner we ate. Emmy enjoyed more desserts than food. Bobby loved the pasta bar where he designed his own creations. I ate almost exclusively lobster and shrimp until my plate of desserts.
