March

Emmy was the star of her latest choir concert as she had 5 songs where she had solos. She sang a duet and had an entire song that she sang solo. She sang "Hopelessly devoted to you" from the musical. She dedicated that performance to me and I cried the entire song. She was so amazing.....and I'm not just saying that because I'm her mom. She got a lot of accolades for her performances. She works very hard on singing and just loves to perform.

Bobby started on the A2 team and they won their division championship. Bobby was an excellent point guard who rebounded better than the big guys and caused a lot of turn overs with his tough defense. We were very proud of his hard work this season. Now, we turn the page to baseball!

March 12 is the day of my DMX surgery. Prayers are being answered consistently and so far my scans are good. I'm looking forward to completing this next step.

January and February 2025

Biscuit turned 1 year old! She is a spoiled puppy and we love her SO much.

I finished my chemo part of the treatment plan and dropped the puck at Emmy's "stick it to cancer" hockey game. She played great and got to sing the National Anthem. She sang amazing and got lots of accolades. It was beautiful! I did not want to be the center of attention at this game but I agreed because it meant a lot to Emmy. She made us so proud sharing her singing talent.

I bought Robb a Valegram from his favorite singer on Valentine's day.

Biscuit loves to explore in the snow and comes back from her time outside with a nose full of it!

Academic achievements

This week, Emmy's math teacher wrote us an email to share that Emmy had scored in the 95th percentile for her STAR testing which is a nationwide placement test. Bobby's teacher also shared he scored 96th percentile in math and 98th percentile in English!  How wonderful to know they have these academic gifts.

Christmas memories

Emmy somehow managed to look both tough and beautiful in her hockey photos this year.
We celebrated a bit early with the Moldenhauer bunch.

We made gingerbread houses together and also did a few other cooking projects.

This year we did not go to Florida so instead I bought more gifts. We had the best time unwrapping over the course of 2-3 days. The kids got me some very thoughtful gifts. Bobby got me a beautiful necklace with a cross. Emmy got me a shirt that said Trust God Psalms 37:5 and a bracelet she picked out charms (charms were religious related). The kids got Uggs, blankets, perfume, slippers, new joggers and sweatshirts, and lots more. Robb got some great gifts and he gave me some really great gifts too (see mug).

Bobby and I put together lots of puzzles. This has become something we do together over Christmas break. Emmy is more into Biscuit cuddles than puzzles.
We celebrated the birth of Jesus! Bobby got a new Bible for Christmas and we are now doing guided devotionals together before bedtime. We read the verse, reflect and share, then we direct our prayer with the verse we read together. This is really a special time and I'm so grateful that he wants to do this with me.

Thanksgiving and baseball

The boys went to Florida for Bobby's baseball camp. Emmy, Biscuit and I binge watched TV and ordered in lots of sushi to make sure we were having a great Thanksgiving break too.
Bobby made sure to get his favorite airport meal - pizza. They had a smooth trip to Florida but a long Mpls layover on the way home.
Bobby loved his teammates this year and they won some games. Bobby hit 5/8 for .625% during the games and also won the Best Defender award for his entire age group. He had a great time with sunny weather and time with his dad.

He discovered a love for Poke bowls at the clubhouse (mom's favorite too) and now is a tuna lover in general. Nice to see some of my taste rubbing off on him! They joined some of his new teammate friends on the last day at Dave and Buster's and had dinner together. He is hoping to keep in touch with his new friends.

Emmy most relaxed with me but she has been earning tons of solos, including "What Child is This?" at the upcoming Christmas concert. Hockey and Jazz Choir are keeping her very busy but with her license she has the freedom to get herself to all these practices. I loved spending some extra time with her over Thanksgiving.

November

Bobby got his buck! Our hunters were successfull!

Bobby has been training hard to be ready for his baseball tourney in Florida over Thanksgiving. He trains with the baseball coach from U Mary and he is doing really well.
I'm hanging in there, my body has lots of side effects but I'm checking off those numbers and getting closer to 16 every week.
BIG NEWS!!! Emmy made the National Honor Choir!!! She gets to go to Texas in March now and is so excited. This is such a big deal for our little singer. What a talent.

Bobby is now in choir too and the teacher often likes to compare him to Emmy and tell him that he should start trying out for solos since he's got such talent in the family.
Emmy convinced us that we should start decorating for Christmas right after Halloween. I love Christmas and so it was an easy yes. She sang carols and decorated the house. We convinced Robb that we needed outside decorations too this year.

We went to a haunted car wash after getting frozen yogurt one day. It was fun but I am a big scaredy cat and moved into the back seat while forbidding Bobby to roll down the window while the monsters were out.

Emmy's hockey season is almost underway! She is a sophomore this year and we are looking forward to a great season.
