Emerson's first Princess Ball with dad

Saturday night Emmy went to her very first Princess Ball with Robb.  There was a grand march where they were introduced as Princess Emerson escorted by her dad Robb Eckert.  I came to watch and took pictures of them.  Then Emmy danced, took pictures with the princesses, made a tiara, ate snacks, danced with friends old and new and had a special time with the best dad ever - Robb.  I made sure Bobby had some fun with his mom.  We went to get waffle cones and frozen yogurt at TCBY (this was his request and choice of treats).  Bobby went to visit Grandpa Kelly and played so hard that when I picked him up he was sweaty and out of breath from running, laughing and playing basketball.  He went straight to bed and fell asleep hard that night.  When Emmy got home she gave her dad a big hug, telling him thanks and that she loved him.  What a busy day that girl had

Emmy performs as a dazzler this past weekend

On Saturday morning I got Emmy all dressed up with make-up and all and headed over to practice and then to her performance as a Dazzler at the Centahna showcase.  She was excited and looked adorable.  She had a big smile on her face the entire show and made sure to move out into the front of the dancers so her fans could see her during the performance.  She had many fans in Bobby, Robb, her grandparents Eckert and Grandma Launa.  After the show Grandpa Eckert bought her and Bobby pizza and big pickles.  It was a great morning and I think she felt very special and loved by all her family.

Busy life

We've been really busy lately.  Emmy has a dance performance and her father/daughter princess ball this weekend and last weekend was feeling under the weather.  We got a call from the grandma at a princess birthday party she was attending and she had thrown up cake and punch and needed to be picked up.  Then on Monday morning when I came back from spin she told me that she had to tell me something (with a guilty look on her face).  She then proceeded to tell me that after finding my side of the bed empty she curled up on my pillow.  Then thought she had to pass gas only to discover that she had diarrhea.  She then alerted her dad (who was in the shower) that there was now poop on our bed.  She laid back down (still on my side) and then had a dream where she was peeing and woke up to peeing on my bed.  SO.....my response was to ask her if she was feeling alright and assure her I was not mad since these were just accidents.  I then made sure our bedding was being washed ;)

Bobby had a daycare potluck that we were invited to.  He was really excited to have lunch with us and made sure to introduce us to the older couple who make the lunches each day.  "This is my mom and this is my dad" he told them while pointing at us.  Tonight we have Bobby's parent/teacher Pre-K conferences.  He told me he expects the report to be good and bad.  Bad because he has been pooping in his pants at school but good because he is a nice boy.  I agree that this may be the majority of what we discuss tonight.  This morning he came running in to our bathroom as I was getting out of the shower and told me that he felt very sorry for me because "God cut off my weiner"  I told him no, this was not the case since I never had a weiner.  He told me that "Emmy had one when she was born but doesn't have one anymore"  I disagreed and reminded him that he was not alive when Emmy was born.  "Yes," he agreed "God hadn't made me yet."

Emmy and mommy's Fargo girls trip

Emmy and I went to Fargo on Sunday for a girl's trip.  We first went to my girlfriends' vendor party where Emmy waited very patiently while I shopped and chatted with my friends.  She was very sweet and let me socialize for a couple hours and then said nicely, "Mommy, I just wanted to remind you that we are missing out on valuable Chuck E Cheese time."  She was right and so we went to play games and have some fun at the pizza place.  She and I worked together to earn a bunch of tickets that she fed into the machine.  Then we won all kinds of fantastic prizes (said sarcastically).  She got some plastic jewelry and we even picked out some stickers and a plastic frog for Bobby.

Then my friend Kristen and her daughter Olivia came over and the girls swam in the pool.  The girls made fast friends although Emmy has a summer of swimming under her belt and so she went off into the deep end and down the slide a few times while Olivia opted for the shallow end.  Emmy every once in a while would come tell me a stranger talked to her and she just wanted me to know this.  I was not worried since I was watching these stranger interactions with other moms who were swimming with their kids.  I like that she is cautious though!

We washed up after swimming and I tucked her into bed with a bag of popcorn.  In the middle of the night after getting smacked in the face (Emmy told me she wanted to pat my head and put her arm around me but didn't realize I was facing her) I took this picture of Emerson taking up the ENTIRE King size bed.  How can one little girl take up so much bed.  I still enjoyed the cuddling before we went to sleep and the many "I love yous" that I heard from my best friend.

The next day I took Emmy to the indoor play ground to burn off some energy prior to heading home.  She played with a lot of little kids since school was in session for Fargo kids (not for Bismarck kids for some reason).  She is friendly and social so she enjoyed making new friends and I played with her as well.  Then this morning she had to get that darn tooth pulled out to make room for her adult tooth that is almost full grown behind the baby tooth.  She was a brave girl and the tooth fairy will be coming tonight to our house!!  I could not be prouder or love this little person more.  I will never forget singing in the car to our favorite tunes or cuddling in the big bed eating popcorn together.  I hope we have many more trips together like this one!

Kids Bop videos

The kids tore up the aisles with their dancing.  You really can see some of their personalities with their moves.  I had fun watching them!

hunting widow having fun with the kids

Emmy and Bobby play really nice together.  They share Bobby's computer often (Emmy tells me she likes his better).  They play pretend and act like super heroes and have great imaginations.

I took the kids to the Kids Bop live show.  This show is made up of 4 really talented pre teens who sing the hits that are on the radio but make them "kid versions" by taking out any lyrics that could be thought of as naughty.  We have some of the CDs and play them in the car and the kids also hear them at school.  They knew all the songs and were singing and dancing like crazy.  They were fun to watch and Emmy told me she really wants to sing and dance on stage like those kids.

Poor Bobby got worn out and somehow caught a nap with the screaming singing kids and loud music.  I enjoyed our cuddle time but it was pretty hard to try to dance ;)

Later on we went out for orange leaf since we wanted to make the most of our time together.  We do miss our dad but he is having a fun time hunting with the other men.  Bobby has a big shiner on his eye that hurts my heart to look at.  He fell against the night table next to the bed while being crazy one morning.  He hardly cried and we attempted to ice it but it seems to look worse every day.  Poor little ruffian!

Disney Live - front row!

I paid a ton of money to get the kids and I front row tickets to Disney Live this past weekend.

Emmy made the most of our front row seats, dancing in front of the stage along with Princess Sofia and Cinderella.  She really put on her own show.  Bobby almost fell asleep during the Princess show as he laid in my lap but he perked up later when Jake and the Never Land Pirates came on for the second half of the performance.

The kids were told they could each pick one treat at half time.  Emmy chose the most expensive item they sold - a flashing purple amulet necklance like Princess Sofia wears.  Bobby opted for a sno cone Jake mug.

Emmy was able to talk Bobby into sharing his sno cone with her and so really she got the best of both treats.  Later the kids were working really hard steering the ship.  Then gold coins blew out from the cannon and the kids went crazy!  They ran around collecting paper coins from the floor, air and dancing around the mess.  I think they really enjoyed it but they still have no idea how lucky they are.
