Winter happenings

Emmy played Andrew's hockey team earlier this month.  She got to square off against her cousin for the face-offs.  It was so much fun to see they play each other.  The girls did lose but not by much!  They played hard and Emmy was focused.  Bobby spent time at the game with his girlfriend, Keira.  They shared food and talked like grown ups.  Keira's brother plays on Andrews team so she told us she would cheer for both teams.

Emmy was very excited to see a special guest - baby Alexis!  Lexi cheered pretty loud and was the cutest fan in attendance that game.

This past week I headed to CSM to present some research with my research partner.  We met our alumni out for dinner one night and had a busy, exhausting conference!  My only break was spent heading out on an hour long running tour of the sites.  The National Mall was only 1.5 miles away from the hotel.  I ran around all the landmarks and enjoyed the cold, sunny weather in one of my favorite ways.

Emmy's team went to a Blizzard game together.  She really enjoys these girls!

Florida trip 2018-19

On our first day in Florida we attempted a drive to the beach....but saw the line to get onto the beach and decided to go mini golfing instead.  Grandma joined us because Grandpa and Robb were golfing.  Emmy played tough and ended up winning the game.  We also got to feed alligators.  They jumped up to get the food that was on the fishing lines.  It was fun to watch!

We went out to Emmy's favorite sushi restaurant.  The service wasn't great, but the company was excellent.  Later we went to Bass Sporting goods where I got a mug to replace my souvenir mug that Bobby insisted I buy on our date night last year.

The kids spent an afternoon with their grandparents while Robb and I shopped the outlet mall.  They enjoyed a dinner out, lots of frozen yogurt and a ride in a bike cart.
The next day, my girl went with mom and I on a shopping trip.  She loves to pose!

We went on an awesome boat ride with Scott and Liz.  This year Sheena and her cute family along with Aunt Lori and Rick were with us.  Emmy just loves those sweet girls.  Every kid got a turn to drive and we found lots of dolphins again this year!  That was amazing to watch.  We went out for lunch and then headed back in on a busy day out in the water.

Robb and I took the kids to Zoomers again this year and we enjoyed an hour of unlimited games.  Emmy and I found out we were very good at "Deal or No Deal" and "Wheel of Fortune" along with other games where we had to throw things and show our coordination.  Bobby and Robb stuck to hunting games and driving games.

New Years Eve was a fun night at the club house.  We had a great dinner of fresh food, seafood, all you can eat.  The kids tried staying home by themselves and did very well.....for the first 90 minutes.  Robb and I headed back to tuck them into bed and got a call on our way back to the party.  Emmy missed us and was in tears.  It may have been too soon to depend on her babysitting. She will get other chances to try, but this year our festivities were limited to 9:30.  Oh well, we tried!
Before we left, Robb and my parents were golfing once again.  Also on the trip, Bobby and Robb had a great day on the water again deep ocean fishing with Captain Joe.  They caught lots of fresh fish for us to eat.  We had friends over that night at the house to eat the fish and everyone loved the fish they caught and cooked for us.  We had a great meal and when we arrived back home, we found out Bobby was in the Fort Myers paper giving fishing tips!  What a fun discovery to see he is now famous in Florida.

Bismarck was cold when we got home, but I made the most of my last few days off but cross country skiing with friends.  Can't do that in Florida!
