Emmy's Peter Pan dance recital

I have become quite the stylist....and Emmy told me that I "did such a good job with her!"
We had a busy week since Emmy was in the Peter Pan show.  There are rehearsals, pictures and then the big show.  She got a hair cut and I took more time doing her hair and make up than my own!  It was all worth it to see her big smile though.  She loves her stage time and had to be pulled off the stage by another dancer waiting in the wings.  She is on the dance team and just found out she will be in the Autumnfest parade riding with her team and dancing to frozen!

The kids painted rocks and had fun making a mess

We took a little ride as a family.  I packed snacks and we ate down by the river.

Amusement park fun

The kids, Robb and I took our first trip to the Amusement park for 2014.  We've got some brave kids who like to do all the high, fast, spinning rides....much to my dismay.  My little guy wanted to go high up on the ferris wheel and so I kept him in a lock of my two arms and tried to act like it was really fun to be up so high in the air with my extra special person who I can't replace!

Robb took this picture of the kids enjoying some corn muffins....and I mean REALLY enjoying those muffins.  Also this weekend Emmy wanted to try out for dance team.  I will attach a picture at a later date that I took.  I was SOOOO proud of her smiling face out there trying to best and doing such a great job.  She learned the dance, performed the try out dance while on video and love every minute of it.  Later on she came up to the dance teacher, gave her a hug and thanked her for teaching the dance to her.  It will take up a lot of our summer and cost us a fortune for her to be in dance, but this is why we work hard....so we can make sure our kids can do all the sports and fun activities possible.  They really are my whole world!

Swimming champ

Emmy aced her swimming class this month and even scored positive remarks on listening well (which she had to work on from last time she was given a report).

A PR in my favorite race yet!

This year we took the entire family plus one to Fargo.  My mom joined us for the Fargo Marathon and so did the kids.  I did 2 site visits on Friday and then we took the kids to a large indoor gym.  We had big plans on Thursday for the kids to run the kids 1/2 miles but the weather was cold, rainy and so after the expo we decided to let the kids decide and they chose the pool.  The pool was actually two hot tubs since they took out the pool with their renovations but the kids didn't seem to mind at all since they had the entire area to themselves.  Bobby insisted on sleeping with me and it was rough.  He slept sideways, upside down, snored, kicked me, rolled up into my space and then finally I awoke in the morning (if I every slept) to him telling me he had to go poddy.   Actually though he had already peed the bed....on my side.  My mom took the kids the next night and they had a slumber party.  Then I ran a PR.....1 hr 32 minutes and 44 s.  That's about 7:05 each mile and 8th in my division with 3000 women running the race.  My ipod ran out at mile 6 which made things interesting.....I was pretty sure I couldn't run without music.  I did get to hear the people cheering and what they were cheering.  Some thought I was cute, some liked my outfit and many knew my name (I couldn't see how we knew each other since I had a millisecond to look).  My favorite part of the race was seeing my kids, mom, hubby at the end of the race cheering.  It was awesome.  Then there were bounce houses and the kids spent some time there before we headed back to Bismarck.

Mother's Day

Today was Mother's day and I think the person who cared the most that I enjoy my day had to be Emmy.  The first thing she said as she came out of her room was, "It's mother's day mommy, it's your day"  She also told me when I asked her if she wanted me to make her pancakes or waffles that I should make her whatever I wanted for her to eat.  Bobby was the first to wake me up for cuddle time today and when I asked him where my gift was he went into our room and came out with a bottle of lotion that was almost empty.  He told me he got me my favorite.  Later tonight Emmy and I were saying prayers and Bobby joined us asking that we say one for him too.  Emmy and I then spent some time along where she had some deep thoughts.  She said to me, "Mommy I think God was looking down on you and daddy and God thought, they need someone to cuddle, hug and spend time with when they are watching TV and just give them a lot of love......then Mommy I will tell you what he thought when you got Bobby.  He thought those people look really bored and so they need a Bobby who can cause some trouble."

Emmy visits her kindergarten

Today we took Emmy to open house at Centennial, her future school.  She loved the visit and was really excited about school.  It is so strange to see her be such a big girl but I am happy to see her enjoy new friends and school.  She recognized some of her Pre-K friends there and was very excited about that.  She met the teachers and they all seem very nice and friendly.  It will be fun to see where she ends up after visiting all the classrooms.  My big girl is growing up too fast......
