New cowboy boots from Grandpa and Grandma Moldenhauer and a Zoo trip

Bobby got to go to the ranch with Grandpa Kelly and he needed some new boots.  After they went for pancakes, Grandpa let him pick out a new pair that fit him.  His sister was at school and was a little envious when she saw the "real snakeskin."  She ended up getting a fever the next day which meant a stay at home day with Grandma Launa.  She was feeling better in the afternoon and somehow she talked Grandma in to a shopping trip where she came home with the SAME EXACT pair of snakeskin boots (in a bigger size).  That was the pair she wanted and grandma aimed to please.  Boots weren't the only thing Bobby came home with that day....grandpa also taught him how to lasso.  Bobby told me that the lasso instruction was his favorite part of the day with grandpa and he has spent a good amount of time lassoing us all.  We have since decided (mostly me) that lassoing is not done INSIDE the house but rather that is an outside game.

Bobby is no longer scared of the aggressive zoo goats.  He and Emmy enjoy all animals especially the goats!

Like brother, like sister

The kids enjoy playing together and they often make up stories to act out or play computer but play the same game.  Robb caught them even playing computer while using to same position.....doesn't look too comfortable but it seems to be how they like to play.

T ball and Kindergarten Fishing with Fathers

Emmy had a busy night last night.  She had a Tball game where she got a couple hits (both left and right handed) and she went to Kindergartern Fishing with Father's and caught two fish.  She was the only person in her class to catch two fish and she also caught the biggest fish!  Her dad was proud.  She also got to see her teacher Mrs. Vollmers who has had to take some time off for medical reasons this month.

Cuddle time on a rainy day

We all climbed into our bed on a rainy day last weekend.  It was my most favorite event of the week.  Also, I got a promotion at work to Associate Professor and the kids and Robb helped me celebrate by making a sweet video for me.

T Ball pics and a bad start to the day

Emmy is in T ball and gets to play with other Centennial kids.  Here she is during picture day with her friend Reagan whose gymnastics birthday party she is going to this weekend.  Emmy told me that she and Reagan are both part of the BFF club.  I asked Emmy where she gets her posing ideas and she told me this one came from a kids music video she saw on her computer.  She loves to practice the choreography that she sees when we let her watch kid music videos.  This morning Emmy woke up with this crazy hair.  It took me a LONG time to work through that mess and I asked her again if she'd like shorter hair....like some of her good girlfriends have.  She told me princesses do not have short hair and so she didn't want that either.  If I'd agree to let her where long hair wigs every day she may consider it but otherwise no matter the pain and suffering of combing through that mess every day she wants to stick with long hair.

Mother's day

This past weekend was Mother's day and the kids made me some great videos  -
These videos were a very special gift and one I will treasure for sure.
My family also picked out a great card for me.  I also ran the Fargo half in 1 hour and 35 minutes.  It was a very cold day and the race was not my favorite but I am blessed to have a body that allows me to participate and run fast.  Grandpa Kelly is back now and he took Bobby for a truck ride.  Bobby fell asleep 10 minutes in but enjoyed it none-the-less.  I took Bobby for frozen yogurt that day as well and that is a treat we both enjoy.  Emmy had a spa day yesterday for me at her Kindergarten.  She REALLY enjoyed painting my nails, doing my make up, eating a treat with me and massaging me.  She took a wash cloth to my face and roughly wiped the make up I had on off first, then applied bright red blush, blue eye shadow (because that's my favorite color) and when she was done I also had about 20 multi colored barrettes in my hair.  My toe nails were each painted a different color.  One of the teacher's aides asked to take pictures using my camera phone because she thought Emmy did the best work there and then the teacher's aide whispered to me "paybacks are a b#@&* right?  We had a great time and Emmy has now offered to always be the one giving me mani/pedis and doing my make up for me. I did get some strange looks as I exited the building.

T ball begins

Emmy started T ball last night and Robb learned that she is a switch hitter - she hits from both the left and the right side with equal comfort.  She really enjoyed playing and is paired up with many of her classmates from Centennial school.  She seems to take to this sport better than basketball but really it is too soon to tell.  Robb likes to help out and he has become the go to coach for all kid sports.

Century Patriots Softball camp -

Emmy went to Century Patriots fastpitch softball camp this past Sunday with her Super dad.  It was a couple hours of hitting, catching, etc.  They even had snack time for the kids.  The Century team organized this and Emmy loved it.  She made a lot of new friends there with the older girls.  She hasn't been enjoying basketball much and so maybe softball will be her sport?
